Membership
If you receive a British pension, or think that you might be eligible to receive one, please join us in the fight for British pensions!
To get started, please download the membership form.
As member you will:
- Receive a copy of our quarterly newsletter "The British Pensioner in Canada" informing you on how the fight for pensions parity is progressing
- Receive information about ongoing campaigns and how you can assist with lobbying activities
- Be informed of changes to pensions and issues that affect British pensioners and future pensioners in Canada
Membership costs just $15 per year for a single member, or $20 for a couple
Please pass this website on to anyone you know who might be affected by the British pension issue.
We are making progress, but your membership support is critical to how much pressure we can bring to bear, and the eventual success of our campaign.
Join us! Together we can achieve so much more than individuals working alone.
We are able to keep members informed of what is happening in the case against the British Government at the European Coaurt of Human Rights in Strasbourg.
We can inform members of what they can do to help:
- writing letters to Members of Parliament in the United Kingdom
- Registering to vote in the United Kingdom if they are still eligible to do so
- Writing to Government and Shadow Ministers
- Writing letters to newspapers
- Signing e-petitions when these are placed on the Downing Street website
- Spreading the word about membership of our organisation
What we can do for you:
- we can keep you up to date with what is happening in the world of frozen pensions through our quarterly newsletter
- we inform members of what is happening in other groups dedicated to the same cause, the members of the International Consorium of British Pensioners
- we can offer asssitance with free British passports for those born before September 1927
- we remind members regularly to ensure that they claim their higher pension when on vacation in the UK and other "unfrozen countries"
- we can offer limited assistance with British pensions
- we have regular meetings in Calgary and occasional meetings in Edmonton and other cities in Alberta and also in Duncan on Vancouver Island
Regular luncheon and business meetings are held in Calgary, the first Tuesday of every month except July and August at The Royal Canadian Legion, Ogden Branch 154, 2625-78th Avenue SE, Calgary at 12 noon.
